The Penn Family

April 16, 2011... The day I made a vow to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing man ever!

Here are some random tid-bits about my life to help you understand who I am :)

My name is Brandie Desso-Penn, I am currently 20 years young. I currently live in Virginia were my husband and me are stationed with the Marine Corps until 2014. About two years ago my heart was stolen by the most amazing man ever; his name is Nathan, he is 22 years of age and he is Military Police in the United States Marine Corps. We said our vows in marriage on April 16, 2011 and ever since then our lives have been some kind of crazy. Within our first year of marriage we have already been through a 7 month deployment and I have to admit that it was a bit more rough than I thought it would initially be. During those 7 months we were able to welcome a sweet little Pomeranian puppy named Honey Bee to our family. On June 1, 2012 we found out that our family would be welcoming a new addition come January. Our sweet Carolina Dawn was welcomed into this world on January 17, 2013 at 7lbs 13oz and 21.5in long. It had to have been the most amazing day of my life, to welcome such an angel into our family. We are extremely happy to finally have a family of our own. My husband is my best friend and my rock when it comes to hard times in my life. I'd have to say that Nathan is the single best decision I have ever made in my life, other than my sweet little girl and I am so thankful to have such an amazing man and beautiful little girl to share it with!

The things I enjoy most...
 * Shopping for clothes, cute things to decorate our home, and crafts.
 * I am in love with baking, I will sit at home and bake a dozen different things to just experiment with new recipes!
 * Saturday mornings with a cup of coffee and a good book.
 * Nikon and Photoshop.
 * Hallmark, IKEA, and Target, Hobby Lobby.
 * Taking photos (my camera is always strapped to my hip) of everything because I believe pictures always make memories last a lifetime.
 * I love looking for new baby things for our little addition coming soon in January!

What I enjoy most about being Mommy...
 * Waking each day knowing that I have the sweetest little girl ever.
 * I love BIG bows, LWD, ruffles and tutus.
 * Hearing my sweet Carolina laugh and giggle.
 * How much my sweet husband loves his little girl.

What I love about my life in photography...
 * I admire all of my fellow photographers for their inspiration and support.
 * I am constantly driving around looking for new locations to possibly have some photo sessions.
 * There isn't a single day where I go without taking at least a hundred photos.
 * I shoot on location and with natural light only, so as to pull in details of the setting or someones life into their photos to make them as personal as possible.
 * I want to capture your life as it is. I see beauty in everyone and everything, and I strive to show that to you with my photography.
 * I am always looking around on other sites and meeting new photographers for inspiration, it's amazing what you will learn by just seeing someone else while they are working.
 * I believe that together, you and I will make some beautiful images. Not just me and not just my camera.
 * I try to capture the moments in between - ones that aren't planned or posed. My shoots are fun and laid back and I am open to any ideas from my clients as to how to make their session more comfortable and personalized to their style!
 * I put every ounce of my creativity into our sessions, beginning to end. From location, to the shoot itself, and my very OCD editing style!
 * I want to give you more than a disc of pictures that you go home with and love. I want to give you images that capture you and your family as you are in THAT moment of time so 20 years from now you can look back and really see yourself or really see how your toddler was (in all their sass and glory!).
